Air operated thread protector is also called inflatable thread protector.It is used to protect the outer thread of casing and tubing pipe.The working principle of the Air protectors is based on pressurization by rig air with the help of Air Gun, ensuring easy installation and reliable protection for all API standard and premium threads.Its outstanding feature is that its gas nozzle is manufactured on the facade,which can protect the gas nozzle in the pipes loading,unloading and transportation process.The gas nozzle of dismountable inflatable thread protector is on the side,which may damage the gas nozzle.Inflatable thread protector is made from polyurethane containing a stainless-steel ring in it,so integral inflatable thread protector is resistant to corrosion,abrasion and oil.It has many advantages,such as fast inflation,easy operation,good air-tightness,lowering consumption and cost.Besides,it can be repeatedly used.

Feature:
1.These durable protectors provide a 360° grip with greater, evenly divided holding power. - Durability is enhanced because the outside of the protectors does not change; only the inside inflates to provide a better grip on the pin.
2.Absence of moving parts, metal clamping bars, or other mechanisms provides a long and virtually maintenance-free life cycle,reducing downtime.
3.The bottom of each protector contains a rugged buffer, and only the inside of the protector inflates. So that our protectors afford excellent protection of pin seal surface.
4.Air operated thread protectors provide firm attachment to all thread types for greater operational flexibility.
5.Rugged construction makes BETTER protectors resistant to high temperatures and rough handling for a long-life cycle.
6.Pressurization by air facilitates installation and release for operational efficiency.
Applications
Three types of protectors are available:
1.The HD protector is designed for mild and cold climates.
2The HDH protector is designed for use in tropical areas like the Middle and Far East, Africa, South America, and parts of Australia.
3.The HD-T/HDH-T protector is designed for tender-assisted rigs and pick-up/lay-down machines. The T-type protector features an aluminum reinforcement embedded in the buffer.
